The singer starts a new fashion series/Project Runway-style show, Styled To Rock for Sky Living HD in the U.K. As an executive producer, the pop-singer-turned-fashion-icon scours Britain for the next generation of undiscovered designers.Over the course of ten weeks, 12 unknown designersâ€"personally selected by Rihannaâ€"will be challenged to create outfits for a number of high-profile musicians (including Katy Perry, the Scissor Sisters, Cheryl Cole, Pixie Lott, and Little Boots) to wear onstage, for a photo shoot, or to a red carpet event. Rihanna, Girls Aloud's Nicola Roberts, Henry Holland, and RiRi's personal stylist, Lysa Cooper, will serve as judges and mentors to the up-and-comers.
The series, which kicks off on August 14, culminates with the winner dressing Rihanna for a live performance in London. "I am excited to follow the journey of our aspiring contestants and see how their individuality influences their efforts during the course of the show," the singer said in a press release.Â
